De Proef “Van Twee” Collaboration with Bell’s Brewing Kicks Off at Brouwer’s Cafe Tonight

October 8th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Beer Releases

Head on over to Brouwer’s tonight starting at 7pm for the initial tapping of the latest in the De Proef Brewmaster’s Collaboration Series – Van Twee (From Both) brewed with John Mallet of Bell’s Brewery in Michigan. Van Twee is a hybrid porter-dubbel brewed with Michigan sour cherry juice and fermented with brettanomyces. Brouwer’s will also feature a rare keg of De Proef Abbey Blonde and a wide range of bottles from the De Proef Brewmaster’s Collection.

I’m really excited to try this one, but I won’t be able to make it tonight…so let me know how it is if anyone makes it over there! Big thanks to Alan Shapiro of SBS Imports for continuing to bring us these great collaborations.

“Van Twee” actually means “From Two,” not “From Both.” “Beiden” or “beide” mean both.

Great blog, by the way, just thought I’d throw that out there.

Thanks AK – that tidbit came from the press release…I won’t claim to know either way:-)
