Big Al Local Hero #6 Release and Full Vertical of Local Hero Releases at Naked City

January 18th, 2010 · No Comments · Beer Releases, Washington Breweries

I love what Big Al Brewing has done with their “Local Hero” release series, where they pick a homebrewer’s recipe to scale up on their full system and distribute to the public. They will release their sixth installment in the series, which is a saison from homebrewer Brian Thatcher, tomorrow night at the Naked City Brewery & Taphouse. In addition, Naked City will be pouring all five previous releases from the Local Hero series as well. So, head over to Greenwood to try the new saison, and then you can catch up on any of the releases you may have missed.

From Big Al Brewing:

Big Al Brewing Local Hero is a rotating seasonal release based on a local home brewers recipe. Our head brewer, Alejandro Brown, coordinates with organizers of local home brew competitions to select a worthy candidate from the Best of Show beers in each participating competition.
Our mission is to share the passion for brewing and the love of beer that we celebrated as home brewers. Local Hero in the lineup of Big Al releases lets them look forward to brewing many different styles of beer just like when we were brewing at home.
Brian Thatcher’s Saison Deux is the first Local Hero release of 2010. It was selected from the Best of Show beers at the 2009 Novembeerfest, the annual home brew competition hosted by the Impaling Alers of Kent, Washington.
We’re happy to be able to share previous Local Hero releases with you. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed brewing them.
