Boundary Bay and Harmon Advance to Sweet Sixteen at National IPA Championship

February 28th, 2011 · No Comments · General Beer News

Washington started with nineteen beers in the Brewing News National IPA Championship. Nine beers advanced to the second round, and then just two, Boundary Bay IPA and Harmon Commencement Bay IPA, advanced to the third round.

Both Boundary Bay and Harmon prevailed in the third round this past Saturday and will move on to the Sweet Sixteen on March 2. Boundary Bay IPA bested Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA, and Harmon beat out Pensacola Bay Li’l Napoleon IPA.

Harmon will now face off against Buckeye Brewing’s Cleveland IPA, while Boundary Bay takes on Ska Brewing’s Modus Hoperandi. Ska has beaten out IPAs from Founders, Bear Republic, and Green Flash in the competition and will ber Boundary Bay’s stiffest matchup yet.

Good luck to both breweries in advancing!

The only other Northwest beer still in the tourneyment is Portland’s Hopworks IPA. Good luck to them as well.
