The Noble Fir Celebrates Earth Day With a Special Keg from Hopworks

April 22nd, 2011 · 1 Comment · Events, Oregon Breweries

Ballard’s Noble Fir is celebrating Earth Day (today) like you might expect a bar that is focused on the outdoors and helping the environment would; they’re raising money for the Washington Wilderness Coalition.

Hopworks Urban Brewery, located in Portland, has donated a keg of their Bonfire Session Ale for the cause, which I’m told is the only keg of it that they sent to Washington. All proceeds from the sale of Bonfire will be donated to the Coalition. They will also be tapping other kegs from Hopworks, including Crosstown Pale, Rise-Up Red, and their Deluxe Organic Ale.

It is pretty cool to see all the Breweries get into Earth Day. I don’t know if anyone else knew this, but I happened to roll into Latona Pub yesterday, and found that every beer on tap was delivered by human power. Obviously most beers were fairly close to the pub. Except for the 7 Seas that the guys from the brewery delivered by bicycle from Gig Harbor. That rocks, I have a new found respect for those boys.
