Laurelwood Brewmaster Heads to Bend, Oregon

Laurelwood Brewing is a respected name among northwest breweries, and we’re lucky enough to have access to their beers up here in Seattle. Big news from them recently, as Brewmaster Chad Kennedy is taking his considerable skills to Bend, Ore, where he will open a new production brewery of his own.

Posted from the Laurelwood website:

“As many have heard Laurelwood Brewmaster Chad Kennedy is leaving to open his own brewery in Bend Oregon.  Chad has been with Laurelwood for 8 years and has been a great asset to the company.  With Chad at the helm Laurelwood has become recognized as one of the great craft breweries not only in the Northwest but in the country. We are sad that Chad is leaving, but very proud of his new adventure! Bend is very fortunate to have one of Oregon’s best brewers coming to their town to bring yet another great brewery to our state! We are very excited for him and wish him the best of luck!”

That’s the second big name in July alone to make waves in the Bend brewing scene, which was already a fantastic craft brewing town.  Sounds like a great reason to plan a research trip soon.

Ahh, the Irish Saints & Scholars once again voyage to new lands. History shows their travels make the locales ever fruitful so a trip to Bend is indeed in order to support & sample the burdgeoning brews!

Picturesque activities abound year-round at Bend’s slopes, trails, and rapids to burn off those tasters. Prime camping or more sheltered lodging options for all budgets can be found on even short notice for that weekend wild hair or well-researched pilgrimmage.

May the road rise up to meet Mr. Kennedy! I will Hug a Tree and wish many blessings upon him. Go mbeannaí Dia is Muire duit.

    Slainte chugat!
