Big Time Old Wooly and Hale’s Bourbon Barrel Wee Heavy Released Today

December 1st, 2011 · 1 Comment · Beer Releases, Washington Breweries

Two fantastic beers are being released today. Big Time Old Wooly is one of the best barleywines in the country, and the Hale’s Bourbon Barrel Wee Heavy is one of the most impressive beers I’ve tasted all year long; it was a shining star of the wood-aged beer panel we held for the upcoming issue of the Northwest Brewing News.

Dear Barley Wine Aficionados – Tis’ that wonderful time of the year again, December 1st when the Big Time releases our uber popular Old Wooly Barley Wine style Ale. Come enjoy a few snifters and take home some 22oz bottles for the holidays [makes a thoughtful stocking stuffer for beery people in your life]. Hale’s Bourbon Barrel Wee Heavy
Hale’s took their Wee Heavy and aged it in bourbon barrels for about six months. They are having a release party for the beer on December 1st from 6-9PM at the Hales Pub. Target retail price for 22oz bottles of this beer is $9.99, but Hale’s will have the bottles priced at a dollar off, $8.99, at the party. They will have cases of 22’s and a very limited number of 1/4 bbl kegs that will go out into the Seattle area. So both bottles and draft and of course it will be on tap at both hales pubs.
