A Picture Paints a Thousand Words: Kevin Fawcett & Drew Locke of West Seattle Brewing

April 8th, 2013 · No Comments · Random Beer Pics

Kevin Fawcett (left) and Drew Locke recently opened West Seattle Brewing Company. Their beers have been on tap at several places in West Seattle, including Copper Coin, Locol Barley & Vine and A Terrible Beauty.

Here is more info I included in my last column for the Northwest Brewing News:

West Seattle Brewing Now Pouring

With places like Elliott Bay Brewing, Beveridge Place Pub, Super Deli Mart, The Beer Junction, Copper Coin, Locol, and more, West Seattle has plenty of great beer to offer neighborhood residents. Add a new brewery to that list, as West Seattle Brewing Company (WSBC) should now be up and running by the time this issue is in your hands. Located at 4415 Fauntleroy Way, Drew Locke and Kevin Fawcett have teamed up to make WSBC a reality. Kevin is a longtime homebrewer and a former writer for this publication, while Drew is a former carpenter and bartender. They hit it off when Kevin came into A Terrible Beauty in West Seattle, where Drew was currently working. WSBC is starting off with a small 1 ½bbl system so that they can get up and running, but they think they have enough room in their current location to expand to a 10bbl system over time. They will offer the West Pale and an ESB as their 2 core beers to start, but they plan on rotating in many other styles as capacity allows. They hope to have their taproom open soon (if not already), but until then you can look for their beers at A Terrible Beauty and Locol in West Seattle. Once open, expect some special beers available only in the tasting room, including barrel-aged beers and seasonal specialties. Also of note is that they have ample room for sidewalk seating, which is something that can be hard to come by in West Seattle.
