Just a reminder that two great events are coming up this weekend.
The Washington Brewers Fest is one of the bigger beer festivals of the year and takes place out at Saint Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA. You can see a preview of the festival here. Also, the Pickled Liver recently pointed out that Elliott Bay Brewing has a bus shuttle heading to the fest (on either Saturday or Sunday – not sure which?). Here are a few beers that I’m looking forward to trying: Cashmere Brewing Continually Hopped IPA, Black Raven Malt & Vine 2nd Anniversary Ale, Black Raven Possum Claus (which has a style described as “southern mystery”), both of the Fremont Brewing beers, Rock Bottom Black Cherry Saison and Schooner Exact India Dark Ale. That’s just a start…
The 1st Annual Lagerfest kicks off at Naked City Taphouse on June 18th and lasts through June 21st. Here is a list of what they’ll be filling glasses with (sample flights will be available):
Silver City Deluxe
Samichlaus Helles
Big Time Ave Rat

Don’t forget the crazy solstice parade will be happening in Fremont this Saturday…Hale’s will have a beer garden going on after the parade, and I’m sure that Brouwer’s will be rocking on their patio. After you’re a bit recovered from the weekend, don’t forget to stop by Big Time on Monday night for their Old Sol Wheatwine release. Old Sol is one of my favorite Seattle beers, so I’d say there is a good chance I’ll be making that one.
