If anyone is still interested, there are some spots remaining for the Beer Geek Campout coming up on Saturday, September 19 at Deception Pass State Park:

Here is a little preview of some of the beers I will likely bring to share (Thanks to my East coast friend, Pollack!):

The WABL trip to Deception Pass was this past weekend, and it sounds like it was a great time. We’ll have the same group campsite that they did, and it sounds like it will work out nicely.
If you’re interested in attending, you can RSVP here:
The thanks are all to you, my friend.
Geoff,
What are the best methods you have found for shipping beer? Which carrier works best, how packed?
Thanks
For shipping, I prefer FedEx. I try to use a styrofoam shipper when I can…something like these:

But, they can get pricy. If you just bubble wrap and pad the hell out of the beers, maybe use some packing peanuts in a strong box, you should be just fine.
If they ever ask what you are sending, I always say “collectable bottles”:-)
Here is a great, comprehensive article on trading beer on Ratebeer.com:

Includes info on shipping/packing.
Geoff-
You’ll have to let me know what you think of the packing I used in my most recent package. [Fingers crossed].
