While the Oktoberfest fun in Munich might have ended about a week ago, you can still head down to the Enumclaw Oktoberfest this weekend to celebrate with music, food, and, of course, great WA beer. The festival is at the Enumclaw Exposition Center, which was formerly known as the King County Fairgrounds. The Washington Beer Commision will be running the beer tent at the festival, and here is a full list of beers that will be available. Following are a few highlights of the lineup.
Chuckanut Oktoberfest – If you haven’t heard, this little brewery from Bellingham just won the Small Brewpub of the Year award at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Will Kemper and Co. are making some great lagers, and this Oktoberfest will likely be no exception.
Pyramid Brewer’s Handle – If this is the Imperial Stout fermented with Stumptown Coffee that I had at the tap room last week, check it out. They plan to roll this out as a future Reserve Series release. This version came in at about 8% ABV, but they plan to kick it up to 9% for the commercial release. You can’t go wrong with a sample of their winter seasonal, Snow Cap, either though.
Snipes Mountain Harvest Ale – It’s a Harvest Ale from a brewery that is located in the heart of hop country and makes a great IPA; what else do you need to know?
Big Al Papa Charlie’s Pale Ale – This light, NW-style pale ale will soothe the hophead in you, but at 4.2% ABV it won’t make much of a dent in your sobriety.
Iron Horse Mocha Porter – Not sure if this is the same as their “Mocha Death“, but I’m guessing it will at least be similar. If it is, you should be a happy drinker.
