In addition to the Enumclaw Oktoberfest with lots of Washington beer, there are a few other events going on in town this weekend. As for myself, I’ll be heading down to Portland for the Fresh Hop “Tastival”, with 30+ Oregon fresh hop brews, plus a couple of Brewpublic anniversary events at Saraveza and Bailey’s Tap Room. Then back in time to drink some pumpkin beers at Elysian on Sunday, hopefully.

The much-anticipated fifth annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday at Elysian Brewing on Capitol Hill. There are sure to be some very interesting and special one-time pumpkin beers to try.

Please note FESTIVAL HOURS: SAT Oct. 10 Noon-10pm and SUN Oct. 11 Noon-6pm

9 Elysian brews including Night Owl, The Great Pumpkin, Dark ’O the Moon Pumpkin Stout, Hansel & Gretel Ginger Pumpkin Pilsner, Mr. Yuck Sour Pumpkin Ale, Jack ’O Bite Barrel-aged Scottish Pumpkin Ale, Bete N’Owl Dark Belgian, 8472 Amber Sour and Pumpkin Hefeweizen.

Guests include: Allagash, Big Time, Cambridge, Dogfish Head, Elliott Bay, Iron Hill, Jolly Pumpkin, Nodding Head, Pike, Rock Bottom, Russian River, Silver City, Snoqualmie, Southern Tier, Stewart’s, Stoudt’s and Trade Route

Head down to the Pyramid Ale House on Saturday to kick off Snow Cap season with their 12th annual Snow Cap Party, featuring music from Minus the Bear and Rocky Votolato.

Snow Cap is Back! A night of revelry, wintertainment and the first of this season’s Snow Cap! Join us for our 12th Annual Snow Cap Party to the benefit the Surfrider Foundation’s Snowrider Project. It’s Saturday, October 10th. Doors open at 7 P.M. Music starts at 9 P.M. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 day of. You can purchase tickets the Seattle Alehouse or online at Brown Paper Tickets. Seattle Pyramid Alehouse 1201 1st Ave. South in the Snow Cap tent.

If beer dinners are your thing, Stone Brewing will be at the Volunteer Park Cafe on Saturday night.

Volunteer Park Cafe Hosts Fall Beer Dinner Celebrating the Award-Winning Beers of Stone Brewing Co.

– October 10 SEATTLE, September 16, 2009

In December of 2008, Beer Advocate Magazine named Stone Brewing Co., “All-time Top Brewery on Planet Earth” and five of their beers received, “All-time Top Beers on Planet Earth” honors. Well, now is your chance to taste what all the fuss is about and try some of these stellar brews! On Saturday, October 10, Ericka Burke and Heather Earnhardt are creating a five-course dinner to be paired with the award-winning beers of Stone Brewing Co. Northwest regional representative, Jeff Porter, will be on hand to discuss beer and have some fun.

Dinner begins at 7pm and cost is $65/person (excluding tax and gratuity). Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling VPC at (206) 328-3155.

    I am going to be honest here and say that it is kinda pretty lame of Elysian to up the price so high for this years pumpkin beer fest. The last two years you got a sample tray of 8 samples for like $7 or $8. Now $15 for 6 tastes!? Very uncool Elysian.
