Iron Horse Mocha Death
Alcohol by Volume: 7.0%
Intro: Iron Horse Brewery, located in Ellensburg, WA, takes their “regular” Quilter’s Irish Death and adds a whole bunch of espresso and cocoa for this 3rd Anniversary Beer for the Beer Shoppe in Yakima, WA.
Description: You like coffee? Yeah, this one’s for you. Medium murky brown with big head. Tons of coffee flavor and aroma in this one. Moderate sweet chocolate/caramel malts with light sweetness. Light to moderate bitterness. Smooth and almost creamy. Could definitely stand to be thicker. I love coffee, and I really enjoy this one.
Verdict: Buy It
Availability: I bought my 22oz bottle for about $5 at Bottleworks. Iron Horse will also be pouring this at Winter Beer Festival at Hale’s on December 4th and 5th.

has a very strong DMS/Dyacital smell and Flavor almost smells like green bean casserole or Broccoli. The Chocolate flavor is present and is also noticeable in the nose. However, the overpowering aroma and Dyacital flavors make it difficult to enjoy. The ABV does pack a punch. Overall a bit disappointing from a beer promising Cocoa, Espresso, and Irish Death. Perhaps a little less death next time and more cocoa and espresso.

Just fell in love with your Mocha Death. Where can I purchase this in Western WA, where I live?
