The Beer Authority’s “12 Months of Giving” Kicks off With a Fundraiser for Haiti on Saturday

January 19th, 2010 · 2 Comments · Events

Head up to the Beer Authority this Saturday, where proceeds from their keg of Victory Prima Pils will go to the American Red Cross’ efforts in Haiti. Pints will be $5.50 and growler fills will be $20. 100% of proceeds will be donated.

From the Beer Authority:

We were hoping to have a more organized roll out for our “12 Months of Giving” events but we wanted to rapidly respond to the human crisis in Haiti so we’ll have to do this on the fly. Below is a brief overview of the program and then a section on this Saturdays event.

12 Months of Giving consists of one fund raising event for a charity or organization on a Saturday each month. We will partner with the charity/organization and a brewery or beer distributor to raise money and awareness. We will place a keg of beer on tap for the event with the entire proceeds going to the charity/organization. Growler fills are encouraged. The event lasts the entire Saturday so you can stop by at your convenience. Check out our calendar for the dates and other information.

12 Months of Giving, January 23rd: Haiti Relief/American Red Cross

Our January event is focusing on relief for Haiti. We are partnering with the Victory Brewing Company, Pacific Beverage and Odom Corp. to raise money for the Amercian Red Cross, specifically for their efforts in Haiti. We will be pouring Victory’s Prima Pils at $5.50 a pint or $20 for a growler fill with the entire proceeds going to the ARC and of course additional donations are welcome. The event lasts all day (noon to 9pm) so you can drop in when you have a chance. This may very well be the most important pint of beer you drink all year – Cheers!

The Pike Brewing Co. is also having a fundraiser for Haiti on the 28th of January. Pike is partnering with several local non-profits: Seattle Green Drinks, Revision Labs, and SeaMo. 25% of all sales for the day, and a suggested donation of $10 to $20, at the door, will go to the relief efforts. Stop by for a beer and a chat, or a tour.

    Cheers,
    Abil
