Seattle will be graced with the presence of the head brewer from Belgium’s famous Rochefort Trappist Brewery, Gumer Santos, for multiple events during the upcoming Seattle Beer Week. Santos will be joined by Rochefort’s export agent, Alfons Vandermolen. More events may be finalized in the upcoming weeks, but following is a preliminary schedule of where you will be able to meet them.

• Redmond, WA; Saturday, May 15, 2010: As part of their 3rd Anniversary Celebration, Malt & Vine is proud to welcome very special guests Gumer Santos (Brewer) and Alfons Vandermolen (Export Agent) from Belgium’s Rochefort Trappist Brewery. There will be no crackage fee for Rochefort Trappist ales during the event and guests will get to keep a beautiful Rochefort Trappist goblet. • Federal Way, WA; Sunday, May 16, 2010: 99 Bottles will host a Brewer’s Afternoon with Trappiste Rochefort: The beautiful small brewery in the abbey of Notre-Dame de St. Remy, Rochefort Trappistes, is one of only seven Trappist breweries in the world and makes full-bodied, deeply flavored ales. Meet Rochefort’s brewer Gumer Santos, export agent Alfons Vandermolen, and NW regional manager Jhon Gilroy from importer Merchant du Vin. 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.; $1 per person, with ID.
