While the Craft Brewers Conference is held annually, the World Beer Cup is held only every other year during the conference. 2010 marks a year in which the competition will be held during Chicago’s Craft Brewers Conference, and around 3,500 beers are expected to be judged by 183 judges, which makes this the competition’s largest year ever. Competition judging takes place this week, and the winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Dinner on Saturday night. The big difference between the World Beer Cup and the annual Great American Beer Festival, is that the WBC includes entries from breweries around the world.
Good luck to all of the Washington breweries who sent beer to Chicago for this year’s competition!

Go get ’em guys! Cool to see that lesser known breweries like Old School and Golden Hills are stepping up to the plate. Also good to see that Rock Bottom Bellevue is in the mix. Brian deserves more recognition for his mad brewing skills.
