FredFest Online Auction of Rare Beer Supports Research for Juvenile Diabetes

May 10th, 2010 · 1 Comment · Beer Releases, Events, Oregon Breweries

If you are the type of beer geek that is always hunting down the latest barrel-aged releases and rare offerings from breweries far and wide, you have got to check out this rare beer auction that is part of FredFest’s effort to raise money for juvenile diabetes research. Highlights include what just might be the last bottle of the 29% ABV Hair of the Dog Dave from 1994 to ever go up for auction, a collection of 10 rare bottles (including 3 years of Abyss) from Deschutes Brewery, a collection of 8 barrel-aged sours from Cascade Brewing, a 9-year vertical of Hair of the Dog Doggie Claws along with 2 other rare HOTD beers, and a package of 9 Midnight Sun “Crew Beers” that I’m pretty sure were not available outside of Alaska.

The current auction bids are already up there pretty high, but remember…it’s for the kids. The money, that is. Maybe you can even write this purchase off as a charitable contribution on your taxes.
