Well, hopefully you’ve made it this far. It’s only day #2. If you’re hurting already, you might be in for a rough week…because things really get going now. Brouwer’s Back in Black Stout Festival at Brouwer’s Cafe – Maybe it is a bit cliche these days in the beer world, but I’m a sucker for a well-made, big, thick Imperial Stout. This event during last year’s festival was one of my highlights, and the list for this year’s (see link above) is maybe even more impressive. Expect some big beers, and some rarities. Also, expect some serious crowds. As if a Friday night at Brouwer’s wouldn’t already be busy enough…

Sweet & Sour Night at Duck Island Alehouse – Duck Island is one of the great Seattle beer bars, and you probably don’t go there often enough. A celebration of sour beer, fruit beer and barley wines. Limited releases from breweries like Dogfish Head, Deschutes, Elysian and Rogue. Finish things off with a late breakfast at Beth’s Cafe next door; so good.

Heavy Metal Beer Bash & Galway Arms – This one is a pretty unique event. Heavy Metal Beer Bash kicks off at The Galway Arms on Friday May 14th 10pm – midnight with live bands (TBD) and metal-themed beers from the brewers at 21st Amendment, Left Hand, and Ninkasi! Bang yer head, and drink to win brewery prizes, and even a pair of tickets to see Slayer and Megadeth in September!
