Monday might mark the start of a new week in the working world, but Seattle Beer Week 2010 continues for its fifth day. Today’s highlights are marked by several world-class beer dinners, but there is plenty going on for those looking for something completely different. Below are today’s highlights followed by a list of all of today’s events.
Beer Dinners Galore – If you consider yourself a bit of a foodie, as well as a beer-lover, then today is your day. Diners and beer lovers will have to choose between the Firestone Walker 8-course, 12-beer dinner with the “Homebrew Chef”, Sean Paxton, at Brouwer’s Cafe, a Pike Brewing dinner at Crow with the always charming founder of Pike, Charles Finkel, the Dogfish Head/Elysian 5-course dinner with Sam Calagione & Dick Cantwell at Elysian Tangletown, the Tale of Two Continents dinner at Naked City, which offers small plates paired with both new and old-world interpretations of beer styles, and finally, the De Proef Brewmaster’s Collaboration Dinner at Quinn’s Pub.
This is Washington, Dammit! – Beveridge Place Pub in West Seattle always does a great job of promoting Washington breweries. But, they take it a step further today when they turn 24 taps over to 24 different Washington breweries. Oh, and all 24 will cost you just a measly $3 per pint.
Sierra Nevada Appreciation Night – If you think the world of Sierra Nevada beer begins and ends with their uber-popular Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, then head over to the Latona tonight to see what else you’ve been missing out on. They will serve up a cask of their outstanding porter, and they will also have on tap their Southern Hemisphere Harvest, a special beer done during beer camp at the brewery, a keg of the ever-popular Celebration Ale, a wood-aged Scotch Ale, the Collaboration beer, and others.
Saison, and on, and on – Portland’s Upright Brewing visits Redmond’s Malt & Vine to show off their saison skills. Their beers are getting a lot of buzz in the fine city to our south, so maybe it is time for you to see what they are all about.
