Seattle Ranks #2 on Kiplinger’s Best Cities List

It’s no surprise to local residents that Seattle continues to appear on “Best Of” lists year after year. The latest is Kiplinger’s list of the 10 Best Cities for the Next Decade. Austin, Texas takes the top spot, but Seattle is a close second. Here is a bit of what Kiplinger’s has to say about our fair city:

2. Seattle, Wash.
Rain City? We’d say Brain City. Home to a well-educated workforce, a world-class research university, über innovators Microsoft, Amazon and Boeing, and a host of risk-taking, garage-tinkering entrepreneurs, Seattle crackles with creative energy…..Seattle is revising its tax, zoning and permit policies to make them more business-friendly, says Johnson. Meanwhile, this sophisticated Pacific Rim city has other qualities to recommend it, including great food, a glorious setting, an outdoorsy culture, enough rain to keep the locals’ complexions looking dewy — and, yeah, plenty of smart people.

I can’t argue with any of that, but they obviously meant to say, “including great food, beer, and wine…” You can read the rest of their comments about Seattle here.
