Some readers may recall that in April 2009, Brouwer’s hosted a “Kegs for Cavy” fundraiser to support Chris Cavanaugh’s expensive fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (Leukemia). Sadly, Chris is still fighting the cancer and it ain’t cheap. Two benefits to support Chris are coming up starting this Sunday at Elysian in Capitol Hill and continuing on Monday at Neumos in Capitol Hill.
While you may not personally know Chris, he’s well known in beer circles and has had stints working at Brouwer’s, Elysian, Stumbling Monk, and probably others. He’s a hell of a nice guy having to deal with a shitty, and very expensive, situation. So, come on out to one of the events to help support him in his fight. All of the info follows.
As you probably know, Chris is again fighting cancer. And as you probably know, that fight is expensive. And as you probably know Chris is pretty much the best person ever. So in order to help our buddy out, the good folks at The Elysian have set up two days of benefits. Please come by if you can and please help get the word out.
Sunday, JULY 11 at THE ELYSIAN IN CAPITAL HILL
1221 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122
(206) 860 1920All day long special kegs that go 100% to Chris. Live music and at 10pm a roast of Chris/comedy/videos/etc/who knows. Maybe a silent auction (I don’t know if that is happening for sure). Come in, buy some beer, enjoy the antics and help Chris. Its sure to be a great day/night.
Monday, JULY 12 at NEUMOS in CAPITAL HILL
925 East Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98115
(206) 709-9442The show is aptly titled FUCK CANCER and features the talents of Terry Radjaw, The Redwood Plan, Sweaty and more. Who cares if you don’t know you who they are. Proceeds go to Chris. Even the beer sales. So get out there and enjoy yourself some music why don’t you already. You can buy tickets at the door or from their website. Doors at 8pm.
I set up a direct donations link with PayPal. You can click the link and use a credit/debit card to make a donation of any amount. (You will need a PayPal account) You can do this at any time. You can also send donations via PayPal to the email address CANCERBITESTHEBIGONE@gmail.com
That is ‘ Cancer Bites The Big One’ as one word. You can give that address to anyone you know who wants to donate money.
Here is the link.

Chris has 400+ friends on Facebook. If everyone gave 10 bucks, that is 4,000 dollars. And that is Chris’s rent for five months. That is just an example. But it shows how every little bit does help.
So please, donate if you can. Come to the events. Spread the word. Etc.
Thank you for your time.
