More information from Smarty Pants:

Greetings from the Beer Bust 2010 planning committee. Beer Bust will be our 7th annual fundraiser at Smarty Pants. Since the trademark laws have chased away the BreastFest and 0ktoberbreast names, we’re hoping ‘Beer Bust’ will be just the right fit.

The event originated because of our friend Noelle, who was battling breast cancer. Even though we lost Noelle two years ago, we’re keeping the party going in her honor. Noelle believed in living life to its fullest by having fun and maintaining a positive attitude.

In this spirit we have chosen Gilda’s Club Seattle as the recipient of Beer Bust’s proceeds. Gilda’s Club provides meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer and their families and friends join with others to build emotional, social and educational support as a supplement to medical care. Free of charge and nonprofit, they offer support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a nonresidential, homelike setting. Gilda’s Club is named in honor of Gilda Radner, who, when describing the emotional and social support she received when she had cancer, called for such places of participation, education, hope and friendship to be made available for people with cancer and their families and friends everywhere. The New York flagship facility, with its International Training Center, opened in June of 1995.

The cost to attend the event will be $20 per person, which includes 4 tokens for beer tasting. Each additional taster is $1.50.

Entertainment info:

Bands, games, and good people watching…

Three great bands will be rock’n and roll’n under rockin’ the overpass. The bands start around 7pm. Tom Price Desert Classic and The Spoils will be returning this year. Also from our over-caffeinated friends at Starbucks we introduce to you Metallibuxx!

We are hoping for a local neighborhood bartender Olympics event, as well as other keg related games. Even if there is limited room, we’re going to try a water boob-toss competition!

Sponsors:

How cool is the Beer Bust logo? This year’s logo was designed by local tattoo artist, Tina Bafaro. For more information about Tina please check out the following links: www.bafaro.com and www.wn.com/Tina_Bafaro__Tattoo_Artist

A special thanks to Hale’s Ales for their continued support. Hales has been a great partner. They donate a percentage of all O’Briens Harvest Ale sales to Gilda’s Club as well as their marketing staff and tools to promote the event. We appreciate all you’ve done to make this event successful. Can’t make it to Beer Bust? You can still support the cause by going to your local pub and lifting a pint of Harvest Ale.
