Brewer Skip Madsen is ready to make his official return to the Washington brewing industry this Saturday, February 26. He and owner Neil Fallon are opening American Brewing Company, located in Edmonds, WA, and you are welcome to stop by and celebrate with them between Noon and 8pm. They’ll be opening up their doors as part of the Washington Beer Open House taking place across the state this Saturday. They will have four beers on tap: Breakaway IPA, American Blonde, Ed’s Red, and Breakaway Caboose Oatmeal Stout. Blues guitarist Steve Stefanowicz will be on hand for entertainment, and the event is sure to be a hell of a good time.

Brewer Skip Madsen with myself. This picture, taken at the WA Cask Fest a few years back, brings me back to college. Me in my Purdue shirt, and Skip wearing a jersey from the Lafayette Brewing Company, which was my favorite hangout while at Purdue and the first brewpub I ever visited.

Skip’s name may sound familiar to many of you, as he has formerly brewed at Water Street Brewing (Port Townsend), Boundary Bay Brewery (Bellingham), Big Time Brewery (Seattle), and Pike Brewery (Seattle). He’s known as a master with the hops, and his Breakaway IPA made appearances at local bars sporadically over the past year

Visit the Komo News Edmonds website for more info about the brewery and some photos from the tapping of their first keg last week, as well as the Washington Beer Blog to check out a post with more info from a few months back.

Congrats to both Neil and Skip for cutting the ribbon at the new brewery!
