Seattle Beer Week: Wednesday, May 25 Event Highlights & Planning

May 25th, 2011 · No Comments · Events

With so many great events there is no way I can highlight them all. But, I’ll be posting every day during Seattle Beer Week and picking out two or three exciting events for the current day, as well as a couple for the following day.

Full Event List for Wednesday, May 25

Picks for Wednesday, May 25

Firkin Firkin at Elysian – 16 different cask beers, 8 different styles, and two states. Washington takes on Colorado this year, and you can help decide the winner. Taster trays will be available, and you’ll be able to try side-by-side samples of the same styles from both states, and then vote for your favorite. If you put 2 and 2 together and think about the fact that there will be 8 casks there from different Colorado breweries….well, there should be some treats.

Port Brewing at the Noble Fir – According to owner Rick Weersing, some special treats are in store for this one. “Tomme Arthur will be in attendance from 5:30 to 7:30. We will be tapping the 5th Anniversary IPA, Older Viscosity, and Ad Lib. Ad Lib is a blend of bourbon barrel aged Midnight Expression, bourbon barrel aged Judgment Day, and rye barrel aged Serpent’s Stout. I believe only two kegs were sent to Seattle.”

A Look Ahead: Thursday, May 26

New Brewers Night at Park Pub – The Park Pub will be hosting the 3rd annual celebration of Washington’s best and brightest new brewers. The brewmasters from Emerald City Beer, North Sound Brewing and American Brewing Company will all be in attendance, each pouring three of their finest craft brews and supplying plenty of shwag – including t-shirts, pint glasses and more – to go around.

Stone Brewing Dinner at Volunteer Park Cafe – Great place for a beer dinner, if you’ve never been.
