With so many great events there is no way I can highlight them all. But, I’ll be posting every day during Seattle Beer Week and picking out two or three exciting events for the current day, as well as a couple for the following day.
Full Event List for Sunday, May 22
Picks for Sunday, May 22
Iron Brewer Triple Header at Beveridge Place Pub – The Iron Brewer competitions at BPP pit two breweries against each other by giving them unusual ingredients to make a beer with, and then allowing customers to vote on their favorite resulting beers. They’ll have three different match-ups for this event, all with Japanese-themed ingredients.
Elliott Bay vs Georgetown Brewing (wasabi and satsuma)
Fremont vs Two Beers (cedar and cucumber)
Big Al vs reigning champ Black Raven (sesame and plum).
A portion of the proceeds will go to Japan earthquake relief funds.
Fire and Ice at Duck Island Alehouse – It’s a lazy Sunday and nothing says casual like a steaming bowl of fresh chili and a cold beer. Come and try some of the more interesting examples of the lager style of brewing: Victory’s Braumeister Czech Pilsner, Schmaltz Brewing Human Blockhead Dopplebock (10%), Germany’s Kostritzer Schwartzbier and Zwick’l unfiltered Kellerbier. Or sit back with some old favorites, Bitburger German Pilsner or Belgium’s Bavik Lager in a can. Three different kinds of chili, cornbread and all the fixin’s means that dinner is done for you and at a price that will make you smile.
Brewer’s 9 Ball Tourney at Taphouse Grill Seattle – If you’re a pool shark who enjoys a good beer, this should be right up your alley. $800 dollar pot.
