What’s On Your Seattle Beer Week Agenda?

May 23rd, 2011 · 1 Comment · Deverie Hart, Events, General Beer News

A deep breath, a swig of water, and two Excedrin later…we’ve officially survived the first weekend of Seattle Beer Week!

The good times were really good with this past weekend’s plethora of events all over the Puget Sound. Timed in conjunction with American Craft Beer Week, Seattle’s “week” is technically eleven days long, making it quite the celebration. But what else would you expect from a world-class beer city? Even the sun came out for parts of the occasion. Ian and Mike at Seattlebeerweek.com have done a lot of work to capture all of the events in one location, and I certainly am grateful that they were up to the task.

What events did you attend? What didn’t you attend that you wish you could have? With craft beer celebrations happening in every part of Seattle, and even a few as far away as Bellingham and Federal Way, there really is something for everyone. Unfortunately, with all of these events, the big challenge can be actually navigating your options and making decisions as to what tastings/dinners/etc. to attend. This link  may help you with your decision. Simply select the neighborhood or neighborhoods where you’ll be, and scroll through dates to see what is happening in your area. Or, select all of the neighborhoods and hover over the beer stein icon to view various activities.

With well over 250 events and a dedicated Seattle Beer Week ale brewed by Maritime Pacific, this should be one party to remember. See you out there!

A big thank you to Dustin Smith from Tableau Software for help creating this viz, via the link.

i’m thinking next year they should rename the event ‘north seattle beer week’. seems that 90% of the events are there. it’d be great if they made an effort to spread things out more next year. i’d be up to support more of the events then…

sorry to rant. no place to do it on the SBW site.

btw… i did enjoy fishtale’s 10+ yo bottles they pulled out at full throttle.
