Press release from Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery:
Seattle, WA, July 11, 2011 – “From Basement to Brewpub”. Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery (FBC) has announced the details of their first brewing competition. As part of the ongoing development for their line of beer, FBC is drawing from its membership via brewing competitions.
“We surveyed our members and they voted to have the first competition be for an IPA” said Jeff Hicks, President. “We thought the appropriate name should be Flying Bike Fly-PA. Which will be part of our Founders Series.”
Hicks also announced that to make this competition even more exciting the competition winner will be brewed locally by 3 Skulls Ales and be available for a limited time at Pillagers Pub along with a handful of local establishments.
“Competitions will be an integral part of beer offerings at Flying Bike. Along with our ‘house beers’, members will be invited to compete to have their beer placed on tap at the Coop once we are operational” said Hicks.
Entries will be judged by BJCP certified judges along with professional brewers and Coop members.
Entries will be collected between September 2-9 at various locations. Persons interested in the competition should check the web site for more details.
“Things are really starting to take shape and we should have several more exciting things to announce in the next few months.” Hicks said.
