Intro: The first release in Redhook’s new Blueline series of special releases is this traditional German-style dunkelweizen. The Blueline series will include four or five offerings throughout the year that will only be available in Washington, Oregon and Idaho on draft and in 22oz bottles. The Blueline series gives Redhook’s brewers a chance to experiment and release some special beers in their home market.
Description: Pours a cloudy medium brown with moderate head. Belgian yeast sticks out in the aroma. Taste is a full-flavored offering of roasted malt, bubble gum, vanilla, banana, and lightly sweet caramel. A spicy finish also carries a bit more bitterness than I’d expect for the style.. Very enjoyable brew that at 6% ABV won’t knock you out. I can’t find any off-flavors, and it is a solid example of the style. Love the idea for the Blueline series, and I’ll look forward to trying future releases.

I was pleasantly surprized by this dark weizen w/ a hoegaarden stlye finnish. After a few imperials this was a great change. Kudos CBA
