Redhook turns 30 this year, and they’ve decided to party like it’s 1981. In addition to a special band lineup featuring Devo as the headliner, they will be releasing their Extra Special Birthday Beer as the second beer in their Blueline Series for the event. Tickets for the September 17th bash are now available online for $30 in advance.

Redhook might be 30 but the people who would attend this would be 40+ and you don’t want us to sit in a chair or on a blanket? that’s dumb.
How in the world anyone could sit during Devo, the Furs, or the TTC is beyond me. I’m 40 and don’t intend to stop dancing the entire time.
I hope that they have some beer that’s not bitter! I don’t like bitter.

Food is being provided by Forecaster’s Public House…Anyone know if they’re any good?
I’m 50 and much as I’d like to dance the entire time it ain’t gonna happen. I need somewhere to sit and rest occasionally. As for non-bitter beer, Redhook is known for their ESB and IPA, but they also have some nice smoother beers. As for the food, I haven’t eaten at Forecasters for a couple years, but I do have positive memories of it. Not an extensive menu, but well prepared. Hopefully that hasn’t changed.
Redhook is one of the worst breweries when it comes to events. They use events as huge revenue makers rather than promoting the beer and a good time. I’ll be staying away from this event and all future Redhook events.
It’s easy to keep Redhook from soaking you at one of these events… don’t buy beer ($5). I bought a cheeseburger, chips, and a soda for $9. Perfectly acceptable.
It rained hard for hours, but the bands were better tonight than they were in the 90s… or at least, Tom Tom Club and DEVO were. I didn’t like the Psychadelic Furs back then and I didn’t think they were great tonight either. The PF lead singer looked like he was high on cocaine… he never stopped jumping up and down…
The staff was good, the parking was free, and a good time was had. I’m glad I went.
