July 13th, 2011 · No Comments · Events

If you haven’t tried the new Plant 1 Powerhouse IPA from Snoqualmie Falls Brewing, or their seasonal Pre-Prohibition Pils, head down to Full Throttle Bottles in Georgetown tonight from 5pm to 7pm where you can sample those and others from their regular lineup.

From Full Throttle:

Georgetown, WA – You know my favorite thing about Snoqualmie Brewery? Their beer. Know the second thing? Their rep Erik. If you’ve ever met Erik you know he is just one heck of a guy who loves beer, loves to talk about it, loves to drink it, loves to share it. So what makes this tasting on Wednesday so fabulous? Erik & Snoqualmie together at my store! In order to ensure we have the very freshest beer possible, I am going to be bringing in the beer straight from the source..good thing it’s so close huh? Come on down, meet Erik, try some fabulous beer, and learn all about the remodel at the brew house!

Plant 1 Powerhouse IPA:  This bold brew is named for a power project built in 1898 on Snoqualmie Falls – an engineering marvel at the time. With Plant 1, you’ll taste the electric and citrusy hops without getting too zapped by the alcohol. Checking in at 7.5% ABV, this Imperial IPA packs a flavor punch. Crisp, floral, and citrusy, with a hefty malt backbone.

Copperhead Pale Ale: Incredibly well balanced, Snoqualmie Falls Copperhead Pale Ale first grabs your attention the great aroma of Washington Centennial hops, followed quickly by toasty malt flavor from generous amounts of imported light crystal malt, finally giving way to a clean, bright hop flavor. Deep gold in color, medium bodied and exceptionally clean, this American-style Pale Ale is destined become a new Northwest favorite!

Steam Train Porter: This lip-smacking dark ale is mellow and malty. The aroma is reminiscent of bittersweet dark chocolate and the caramel and roast malt flavors are exceptionally smooth. Medium bodied, with a slightly sweet edge but a dry finish.

Haystack Hefeweizen: Haystack Hefeweizen is a German-inspired wheat beer crafted from 60% malted wheat, Two-row Pale and Vienna malts, and finished with noble German hops. Snoqualmie Falls Brewing ferments this with their American ale yeast for a spicy, citrus aroma and clean, mellow flavor with yeast overtones.

Summer Beer! : Summer Beer is a Pre-Prohibition Pils, brewed alt style. This beer is crisp, clean, refreshing and hoppy. Inspired by the long-forgotten beverage of our great-grandparents, our “twist” is that we ferment this beer with our exceptionally clean ale yeast at much lower than normal temperatures, which imparts a somewhat different character compared to lager yeast. In the Pre-Pro style, we use a small proportion of maize (corn). The noble (and expensive) Czech Saaz hop variety is used through-out, and gives this beer a spicy herbal character and dry finish. This new rendition of an old classic will add a unique contrast to any line-up!
We will be tasting these on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 5-7pm. Only $3 or bring your own non-plastic or non-paper glass to be GREEN and save $1!
