The Tacoma Craft Beer Festival – Benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of South Puget Sound

Washington State loves its beer festivals! Beyond the Seattle city limits, we are seeing an expansion to new neighborhoods this year, such as the Bremerton BrewFest, this last July.  And for the third year in a row, the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival is still going strong. This is great news for area beer lovers who want to participate in the fun outside of Seattle.

This year, on Saturday, September 3, we’ll enjoy sunshine (the forecast calls for 80 degrees!) and fresh air at the Foss Waterway Park in Tacoma. Highlighting the best of our local brews from more than 40 breweries, this is guaranteed to be a great time. Tickets are available online for $25.00, or $30.00 at the door, with discounts for our Military service men and women as well as designated drivers. Admission includes a souvenir glass and ten tasting tokens. Beyond the tokens, additional pours may be purchased for $1.50 each.

Perhaps even better than the great selection of local brews is the fact that this festival benefits the Boys and Girls Club of South Puget Sound. Founded in 1940, this location of the Boys and Girls Club organization serves many area youth, providing a positive environment and fostering programs to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

From 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m., a variety of food vendors and an assortment of musical groups will feed and entertain the beer-thirsty masses throughout the event. Local hotels are offering holiday rates for those who don’t want to trek home afterward. And for those looking for other alternatives to driving, taxi’s will be plentiful and a regular shuttle will transport fest-goers between the Sound Transit parking garage and Foss Waterway Park.

Participating breweries include: 7 Seas, Airways Brewing Co., Alaskan Brewing Co., Alpine, American Brewing, Anderson Valley, Avery, Deschutes, Diamond Knot, Engine House 9 Brewing, Firestone Walker, Fish Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Great Divide, Harmon, HopWorks, Kona, Lagunitas, Lazy Boy, Leavenworth, Mac & Jacks, M.T. Head Brewing Co., Naked City, New Belgium, North Coast, Odin Brewing, Pike Brewing, Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, Red Hook, Reel Ales, Schooner Exact, Scuttlebutt, Silver City, Snoqualmie Falls Brewing, Sound Brewing, Spire Cider, Stone Brewing, Trade Route, Unibroue, Widmer Brothers, and Wingman Brewing.
