Local Breweries: National IPA Championship is Open for Submissions

December 22nd, 2011 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Note to all local breweries: get your IPA submissions in for this year’s National IPA Championship! Details are below. The Northwest has had some strong showings in the past, and I’d love to see that trend continue.

It’s that time again! The National IPA Championship entry form is ready. Let the games begin!

The 5th “Hops, not Hoops” March Madness style competition begins in early-February, unfolds over four weeks, with the Final Rounds and the Championship match occuring on March 3, in Brooklyn. (See the location of all rounds below.)

This year’s competition includes a juding round on the West Coast, making this competition truly national! Once again, the time during which this year’s competition is four weeks, to ensure freshness. Other changes will be announced as they are implemented. As always, though, hop lovers with a familiarity in all regions of the U.S. will be on each three person judging panel; and the public will once again make their own picks on-line, and follow their favorites as they wage battle against the field.

If you wish to enter your beer (and consequently, to send your beer for judging), please fill out the online form at http://www.brewingnews.com/nipac/entryform

Note: This page has a list of current entrants that is automatically compiled from on-line submissions. As this list is live and not subject to approval, it may change in the event of a false and or duplicate submission. Brewing News reserves the right to edit the list should any of these situations occur.
