Tacoma’s Wingman Brewers Plans New Taproom and Bottles

After opening in April 2011, Tacoma’s Wingman Brewers is continuing to grow. We don’t see their beer too often up here in Seattle, but I’ll be looking forward to making their new place a stop on my next Tacoma trip this year.

Details from Wingman Brewers:

Happy New Year!

It’s been quite an exciting first year for Wingman Brewers.  We released P-51 Porter at The Red Hot just 9 months ago and have enjoyed every pint of business since.

Growing!

We may be a Nano-brewery now, but we have big plans for 2012.  To start things off, we will be moving to a new building this spring and opening a taproom!  You asked for it and we listened, so on-site pints and growler fills are the #1 priority for our new location.  We are currently remodeling our new space, located at 509 1/2 Puyallup Ave. across the street from the Tacoma Dome station.  When we open our doors this spring, you will be able to park across the street in the giant garage, grab a Tacoma-bound bus or train from Seattle, or even take a relaxing ride down on Tacoma’s light rail.

Bottles

We are currently in the process of getting approval for some great beer labels so you can take Wingman Beer home in a bottle!  We plan to release P-51, Ace, Stratofortress, and hopefully some Pocket Aces Double IPA for our 1 year anniversary in April.

Events

Strange Brewfest is on January 27-29.  We will be bringing a Gin & Juice IPA and Chick-O-Brew Peanut Butter Coconut Ale.

Belgian Fest on February 5th: A festival showcasing Belgian style beers!  We will be showcasing Black Widow, a dark Belgian Specialty Ale aged in a 21 Cellars Pont21 wine barrel, and Cerise Noire, our lambic style beer brewed with black cherry tea.  We also hope to have some Stratofortress, which is a strong and dark Belgian ale aged on rum-soaked cedar planks.
