The 2012 Washington Brewers Festival takes place at its new location at Marymoor Park in Redmond this Friday through Sunday. The event will feature more than 200 beers from 64 different breweries paired with live music, food, and more. The Friday night session is only for the 21+ crowd, while Saturday and Sunday are open to all ages and families are welcome. Friday night will have some exclusive beers being poured, while Saturday and Sunday will have a kids area, root beer garden and the annual brewers keg toss competition. Tickets at the door are $15 for Friday night (includes 5 5-oz tastes) and $25 for Saturday and Sunday (includes 6 5-oz tastes).

With more than 200 beers available throughout the weekend, there is plenty to choose from. You can find the list of attending breweries and a full beer list here. It’s a little more difficult preview this year since there are no descriptions for the beers on the website, but following are a few beer suggestions that I think will be worthy of your tickets.

Alpine Hefeweizen – A fantastic example of a German-style hefeweizen. If you are a fan of low ABV, sessionable beers make sure to give this one a try. Nothing gimmicks or crazy ingredients here, just a great beer.

Emerald City Whiskey Lager – Assuming this is the whiskey barrel-aged version of Dottie’s Seattle Lager, I was pretty impressed when I tasted a release of this a year or so ago.

Flyers Mile High Summer Rye – Without knowing anything about this beer, I’m hoping it is a sessionable rye pale ale with a solid hop presence. Maybe that’s assuming too much, but I can hope, right? In fact, I’d be ecstatic if it is along the lines of Oakshire’s Line Dry Rye; a fantastic beer.

North Sound Oaked Hazelnut Goosetown Brown – The regular Goosetown Brown is a very nice moderate ABV brown ale from what I recall, and adding some oak and nuts to the profile should make it even more interesting.

New Belgium Tart Lychee – Just another outstanding sour beer from the Colorado brewery. If you are a fan of sours, don’t miss this.

Snoqualmie Falls Louis Quatorze Imperial Stout – Made for their 14th anniversary, I’ve heard good things about this 8.6% ABV stout. Still have not had a chance to try it myself…

Twelve Bar Brews Supertonic – This Black IPA from the new Woodinville brewery is my favorite of what I have tried from them. Only pouring on Saturday/Sunday.

Wingman Brewers Peanut Butter Coconut Porter – Maybe a bit much going on there, but I love a good coconut porter. Will at least be interesting. Only available on Friday.

Snipes Mountain Vaquero – I rarely pass up an IPA from Snipes, and this Imperial IPA is no exception.
