With the Washington Brewers Festival coming up in just a couple of weekends, outdoor beer festival season is ready to get under way. New to the slate of festivals this year is the inaugural Brew-Five-Three: Tacoma’s Beer & Blues Festival. This downtown Tacoma festival will feature more than 35 Washington breweries and cider producers, live music from several NW blues bands, and a variety of local food trucks on site.
Included in the lineup of beers will be two collaboration brews created especially for the festival. Tacoma Brewing and Wingman Brewers will team up to brew a session IPA, while Harmon Brewing and E-9 Brewery will collaborate on
crafting an imperial IPA. Tacoma Brewing posted this on Facebook yesterday about their collaboration beer:
We’re looking forward to brewing a collaboration beer – a session IPA – with Wingman Brewers Tacoma this week. We will be adding Belma hops which are noted for having subtle strawberry notes and Wingman will be adding Nelson Sauvin hops, noted for having a white wine quality. It should be fun – and delicious. See you there!
The full press release with details about the event follows. One thing to note is that there will be a “dinner break” from 5pm to 6pm when no alcohol will be served, but food will still be available during that period.
