I’m always on the hunt for any new barrel-aged beer releases, and this time of year we see quite a few of them. This release of 2012 Bourbon Barrel Aged Equinox from Odin Brewing sounds promising. See the below press release for more details. I’ve contacted the brewery for more info on where and when you can get this, but it’s probably a good bet that you’ll find it at Asgard Tavern in Fremont, which is Odin’s satellite tasting room.
Odin Brewing Company is thrilled to release its 2012 Bourbon Barrel Aged Equinox, more affectionately known as ‘Thor’s Oak-quinox’.
In early 2012 we inoculated a small batch of Thor’s Equinox with Brettanomycesand aged it in freshly dumped bourbon barrels. After two years of cellaring, we are releasing only 30 cases, just in time for the holidays.Aging has only improved the delicate Brett nose and brought a rich, smooth whiskey barrel character to this mildly tart ale.We truly believe you will enjoy it as much as we do.
