Chuckanut Brewery Releases Pilsner in Bottles for First Time

January 8th, 2014 · No Comments · Beer Releases, Washington Breweries

I mentioned a while back that Chuckanut Brewery would be releasing some of their offerings in bottles, and they announced yesterday that their outstanding Pilsner is their first beer available in the 1/2 liter glass bottles. They are currently just being sold at the brewery and select accounts in Bellingham, but as the brewery gets more comfortable with the new bottling line and labeler we will start seeing them show up in accounts around Puget Sound. Cheers to that.

Press Release:

Chuckanut Brewery is proud to announce bottles of the award winning Chuckanut Pilsner are now being sold at the brewery Kitchen and selected accounts in Bellingham. The brewery bottling line is a six head Meheen Bottler from eastern Washington set up to fill ½ liter glass bottles. Chuckanut plans on having their distributor in the northern Puget Sound area, Dickerson Distributing and Click Distributing in the Seattle area distribute bottled Chuckanut beer as the brewers get more familiar with the bottling machine and labeler. Currently the bottles are hand labeled and can only be bought from Chuckanut Brewery and special accounts.

The brewery plans to continue to release other styles of Chuckanut beer as they grow the bottled line. Next to be bottled will be Chuckanut Kolsch followed later by Vienna Lager, Dunkel Lager, Yellow Card Golden Ale, and Helles Lager. Learning the bottling machine will take time and Chuckanut wants to make sure each beer is well taken care of and gets to the consumer in the best condition. With that in mind concentrating on Chuckanut Pilsner first will give the brewers more practice on bottling and the line of beers will expand as the brewers learn more about their machine. Stay tuned and watch Chuckanut’s website and facebook posts for more news.
