Well, it has been just over a year since Russian River ceased distribution to Washington State. You’ve all survived, right? With Russian River releasing their much-sought-after Pliny the Younger later this week in Santa Rosa, the timing is perfect for a distraction for those of you that wish you were there. Luckily, Big Time Brewery has you covered.

Big Time is releasing their Whiny the Complainer at their brewery in the U-District today. This triple IPA is available on tap in 12oz pours, but this year there is also a limited amount (20 cases) of 22oz bottles available for purchase. Get over there now if you plan to buy bottles, because they opened at 11:30am.

The 2014 version of Whiny the Complainer is releasing today February 4th at the Big Time Brewery when we open at 11:30am.  For this version we reigned in the alc./ vol. a wee bit, bring it in at 9.4%.  This allows the hops to shine through a bit more.  We used 3.4 lbs of hops per barrel, varieties include Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Galaxy and Simcoe.  OG 24.2 Plato, TG 6.3 Plato.  Whiny the Complainer will be available at the Big Time in 12oz tulip glasses and available to go in extremely limited run of 22oz bottles (20 cases produced).

Whiny will make two appearances away from the Big Time showing up at the Hop Mob Roadshow on opening night on February 17th at Brouwers Cafe, and on the closing night on March 13th at Naked City Brewpub.
