More Events This Week: Barleywine Release at Big Time & Saison Fest at The Masonry

December 1st, 2014 · No Comments · Beer Releases, Events, Washington Breweries

In addition to everything going on this week that I mentioned in my previous post, here are a couple additional events I’d like to mention:

Thanks to +Russ for the image.

Old Wooly Barleywine Release at Big Time Brewery – 12/1 (Today) – One of the longest-running barleywine releases in the NW, Old Wooly is something that fans of Big Time look forward to every year. They will have it pouring on tap and available in 22oz bottles to-go today, while supplies last.

Saison Fest at The Masonry – 12/3 – Saisons are an under-represented style in the Seattle beer scene. With people’s love of hops and the demand for IPAs, etc…these farmhouse-style ales don’t secure much tap space at even some of the better beer bars across town. Breweries like Urban Family and Holy Mountain are hoping to change that, and The Masonry is certainly on board. They will be hosting a Saison Fest this Wednesday night and pouring some world-class saisons produced around the world and here in the Northwest. They will turn all of their taps over to saisons, and they will also be doing special bottle pours. Here is a partial tap list (expect a few additions):

Shelton Brothers:
Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga
Prairie Ale (supposed to be arriving in time)
Prairie Birra (same for this one)
Trois Dames Saison Houblon
Brewfist Galaxie Saison
Blaugies La Moneuse
Thiriez / Get Radical Train to Mars
Nøgne Ø Saison
Northwest:
A new blend from Engine House #9
Logsdon Oak Aged Bretta
Something from Holy Mountain
