If you are a fan of the lagers that Brewmaster Kevin Davey is making at Gordon Biersch (GB) in downtown Seattle these days, here is an event to get your new year started off right. On January 7 at 7pm, GB will hold a dinner themed “Six Degrees of Kevin & Bacon”. The fun and familiar theme will feature beers from breweries where Kevin has brewed at in the past, including GB, Chuckanut Brewery & Firestone Walker. The beers will be paired with courses that incorporate bacon.
Kevin was previously the Lead Brewer at Chuckanut from 2010 to 2012, which is regarded as one of the best lager producers in the country. He then spent a year working for the esteemed Firestone Walker Brewing Company in California before returning to Seattle for a short stint at Georgetown Brewing and then moving into his current position at GB.
Tickets for the event are $40 per person and can be reserved by calling GB at 206-405-4205. There is no menu available, yet, but according to the press release from Chuckanut, they will be bringing their Bean Stop Porter & Alt Bier. The press release goes on to say, “Chuckanut will be at the dinner to talk about Chuckanut beers and maybe stories from the days when Kevin was brewing. The chef will also chat about his bacon oriented courses as the dinner progresses. Served family style, the event will be full of laughter, good food and excellent beer.”
