Random Beer Pic: Justin Gerardy of Standard Brewing

If you haven’t heard of Standard Brewing yet, I wouldn’t be surprised. Justin Gerardy opened the small 1bbl nanobrewery back in late March, and most (if not all) of their beer has only been poured in their taproom. Located at 25th and Jackson in the Central District, you can stop by Standard to have a pint or fill growlers. It seems like they are open about 4pm to 8pm Wed – Sat for now, but there is no confirmation on their website.

I stopped by with some friends a week or two ago and enjoyed a few pints at the single table on their patio. Their high octane (9.5% ABV) Cascadian Dark Ale was easily my favorite of the lineup; very solid.

A good chance to try Justin’s beers will be when he stops by The BottleNeck Lounge this Thursday, May 16, for a brewers night as part of Seattle Beer Week.
