Maritime Pacific Brewing is one of Seattle’s oldest and most beloved breweries. They had been in the same location since the brewery was established in a Ballard warehouse in 1990, and the adjoining Jolly Roger Taproom became a popular place for food and drinks when it opened in 1997. For a long time, the brewery and taproom chugged along with little change. Then in 2009, they embarked on building themselves a new, larger brewery just down the street in Ballard and a taproom with more space to go along with it.

Maritime will celebrate their first year in business at the new location starting tonight and lasting through Sunday, February 20. They will have a special cask on the bar each night starting at 5pm, as well as some special menu items from the kitchen. All pints of beer will be just $3 from tonight through Saturday, and on Sunday beers will be just $2.50 in honor of their anniversary.

Here are the beers they will have each day:

February 17th – Dry Hopped Salmon Bay ESB aka Jane’s Bitter
February 18th – Special Release of Navigator Weizenbock aged with vanilla beans
February 19th – Dry Hopped, Oak Aged Imperial IPA
February 20th – Jolly Roger Christmas Ale aged with Oak Chips soaked in Rum

Here are the anniversary food specials:

Thursday: Double Smoked Sausage Wraps with house-made sauerkraut
Friday: Seared Halibut Cheeks tossed in Moroccan spices with pistachio cous cous & preserved lemon
Saturday: Smoked Pork Spare Ribs dressed in ghost chili-mustard BBQ sauce served with Cheese Grits
Sunday: Deep fried calamari lightly breaded in blue corn and seasoned flour served with a Habanero / Buttermilk aioli

Looking ahead, Maritime Pacific will also be brewing this year’s commemorative 2011 Seattle Beer Week release. Head Brewer Corey Blodgett, who started with Maritime just last year, will be brewing a strong ale using Falconer hops. Look for the beer to be released closer to Seattle Beer Week, which will take place from May 19 to 28 this year.
